MARIA ISLAND RECEPTIONIST CENTRE

David Denman + Associates were engaged to prepare a concept design for a Visitor Reception Centre within the old Clinker Store on Maria Island as part of a Darlington Zone Masterplan Study.

The proposed adaptive re-use of the Clinker Store facilitates accommodation of ‘business ventures’ on the island, such as bicycle hire, guided tours and the like. The Clinker Store refurbishment relieves the convict era buildings of this substantial burden.
